How To: Add a Featured Image

Each post on CSMBStudentBlog.com must have a featured image associate with it. A featured image is an image that is associated with your post on many areas of CSMBStudentBlog.com. For example:

Sizing restrictions

A featured image is automatically resized to fit into many areas of AISBlogPals.com. In order for a featured image to work in all areas of AISBlogPals.com, it must meet the following sizing requirement:

Featured images must be larger than 800 x 600 pixels

Using Google Image Search to locate an image

To locate an appropriately sized image using Google Image Search, please use the “Larger than…” option to display images that are larger than 800 x 600 pixels in size.

When you’ve found an appropriate image, click down to the actual image file, then save it to your computer.

Be sure to select Full-size image

When you are on the actual image, right-click on it and save it to your computer

Upload and save a featured image

After you have located and saved an appropriately sized image, use the Featured Image link to upload it to AISBlogPals.com. The Featured Image link is located near the bottom of the right-hand column of the Edit Post screen. Click the “Set featured image” and use the “Set featured image” window to upload and set your featured image.
