My Procedure: Muscle Pancakes

Most people know that I like to be fit and eat healthy. I try and go to the gym ad-least four times a week and workout. A big part of being fit and healthy is your diet. Breakfast is one of the most important meals to eat. After you have slept for seven to eight hours or even more your body is hungry. You need to eat some good quality food to jump start your body and go through the day. Traditional foods like pancakes and waffles are very unhealthy. I usually stay away from those foods and stick with things like oatmeal and healthy cereals like Bran Flakes.

Sometimes i may crave some pancakes and instead of making normal pancakes with store bought batter I mix up my own concoction. My Muscle Pancake batter recipe makes two pancakes that have nineteen grams of protein and twenty-one grams of carbohydrates combined. One serving of regular pancake mix makes three pancakes but they only have four grams of protein combined! In this post, I will show you how to make Muscle Pancakes.

Ingredients/Utensils

1/3 Cup oats

1/3 Cup cottage cheese

1/3 Cup liquid egg whites

1/4 Teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 Teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/2 Banana

Blender

Pan

Nonstick spray(optional)

Blueberries(optional)

Put all the ingredients except the blueberries into the blender. If there is a setting put the blender on high. Blend the ingredients until it turns a batter like substance. Make sure to scrape off chunks from the sides so everything gets mixed together.

Preparing the pan

Get a pan and put it on the stove. Turn the heat on so the pan will heat up a little bit. If you have non-stick spray you can use that. Make sure that the pan isn’t too hot because then you might burn your pancakes.

Cooking the pancakes

Pour about half the batter since the recipe makes two pancakes. After about a minute of cooking sprinkle some blueberries on top. This ensures that the blueberries don’t go right through the pancake and make holes. After a bit run your spatula around the edges to see if the side is done. When the side is done carefully flip the pancake so that the batter doesn’t run off and make a mess.

When both sides are done take the the pancake off the pan and place it on a clean plate. Repeat the same thing for the other pancake. Once both pancakes are done you can eat it! Add some syrup. If you want to be even healthier use lite syrup.
