My Procedure: How to make gluten-free peanut butter cookies

Most people don’t know how much people eat gluten. Most people don’t even know what gluten is. Gluten is basically just flour. Flour isn’t in that much stuff, right? Wrong, most of the foods from the grocery store we eat today are processed in factories using hundreds of different ingrediants. One of those being gluten.

Gluten is bad for you, but even worse for people like my father. My father has celiacs disease, making him allergic and unable to eat gluten. In our house, we have to be very careful with food. Even if a little smidget of flour touches my father’s food, he will get very sick. We spend alot of our time finding and making gluten free recipes so my father can enjoy normal foods like he did before. One of the best recipes we have gotten and one of my favorites is our reciped for gluten-free peanut butter cookies.

Gluten-free peanut butter cookies contain no flour, are very easy to make, and taste delicous. In this procedure I will show you the steps to make these peanut butter cookies with no gluten.


- 2 cups creamy peanut butter

- 1 cup packed light brown sugar

- 1 cup granulated sugar

- 2 teaspoons baking soda

- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt

- 2 large eggs



-Assorted measuring cups

-Assorted measuring spoons


-Cookie Sheet



- Parchment paper

- Non-stick spray

- Oven Mit

Heat Oven

Heat your oven to exactly 350 degrees. It is important to do this first so that it is hot enough in time.

Line Cookie Sheet

Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper. The parchment paper should cover the whole cookie sheet.


Mix the Ingredients

Mix all of the ingredients together in one bowl. There isn’t a certain order the ingredients need to go into the bowl. After you have added all of the ingredients, use a large spoon to mix them all together. This may take a few minutes because the dough is very thick.


Add all of the ingredients to one bowl.

Form the Balls

After washing your hands, use a regular spoon to scoop out about 1 tablespoon of dough. Roll the dough up to form a perfect little ball. Make enough to fill up the cookie sheet.


Make the cookie balls about two inches apart.

Create a Criss-cross Pattern

Grab a fork and spray it with non-stick spray. Take the fork and smash down each ball horizontally and vertically. Why do you do this? The criss-cross pattern is fun and is a signature design for peanut butter cookies.






Bake the Cookies

Place the tray of cookies in the oven and bake for 12 minutes.


Don’t get burned!

Turn Halfway Through

About 6 minutes left, use an oven mit to turn the cookies around. This helps the cookies get evenly cooked.

Put on Wire Rack to Cool

When the cookies are done, take them out carefully and let them cool for a couple minutes. Once they are cool enough to touch, use a spatula to transfer the cookies to a wire rack to fully cool down. Be careful! The cookie sheet will be very hot!


Use the spatula. Don’t use your hands!


Now you have delicious peanut butter cookies that are easy, delicious, AND healthy! Enjoy, and make sure not to eat them all!
